UPDATED BENEFITS FOR “LINE OF DUTY DEATH”
At the September 12, 2018 Board of Directors Meeting, the Board of Directors voted unanimously to change the initial benefit to the family of a San Mateo law enforcement officer(s) killed in the line of duty from $25,000 to $50,000.
Each incident shall be reviewed by the Executive Committee or a majority of the committee before any benefits are distributed. This shall be accomplished within hours after being made aware of an on-duty death. The initial benefit shall be distributed to the family within 24 hours of the death unless unforeseen circumstances make this impossible.
