MISSION STATEMENT

The One Hundred Club is dedicated to supporting the Peace Officers of San Mateo County by providing immediate financial assistance to the families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, granting scholarships to their children, and funding instruction that will better prepare our officers to protect the communities they serve and protect themselves from harm’s way in the performance of their duties.

HISTORY

100.PNG

In 1952, a young policeman was gunned down in Detroit. The community responded by forming a voluntary program to demonstrate public support for police services. Over the years, “100 Clubs” have been formed throughout the United States. The clubs operate independently of one another. The San Mateo County 100 Club was formed in 1972 by John Linforth who was a member of the Detroit Club. He discussed the idea with District Attorney Keith Sorenson. He along with all the Police Chiefs agreed this would be a great benefit to San Mateo County. The San Mateo 100 Club currently includes 100 + members whose financial support and volunteer efforts have had a significant positive impact in San Mateo County.
