BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Ross T. Hite's career began in the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office as a Cadet, Deputy, and Detective. In 1979, he founded a private investigation firm - Investigative Analysis. His practice has involved all types of investigation, but during the past decade he has become a Certified Fraud Specialist. Ross was raised in San Mateo County and graduated from Menlo School, College of San Mateo (AA), University of San Francisco (BA), and Golden Gate Univ. (MPA). In addition to the 100 Club Board, he is the Board Secretary for the San Mateo County Service League.
He has one adult daughter residing in Houston, Texas with three grandchildren.
Retired Chief Albert Pardini has lived in San Mateo County for the past 35 years with his wife and they have three adult children. On November 12, 2014, he was hired by the City of East Palo Alto to serve as the Chief of Police. During his tenure as Chief of Police, he has restructured the department, created a succession plan, and hired several new officers to fill vacancies in the 37- person department. Chief Pardini has implemented his community policing philosophy that has connected the department with the community and bridged many gaps that existed when he was hired. Chief Pardini credits this approach to a 60+% reduction in violent crime and an increased trust with the community.
Chief Pardini joined the San Francisco Police Department in 1982 and served the community for 32 years. During his 32 years of service with the San Francisco Police Department, he served as the commanding officer of the Bayview district patrol station, Major Crimes-Investigations division, Narcotics & Vice Crimes Investigations division, Homeland Security division, Planning& Research division, and Administration Bureau Headquarters. In 2010, he served as the interim Assistant Chief of Police and commanded six divisions of the police department including management of the 450-million-dollar budget. In 2011, Chief Pardini developed a youth outreach program that focused on “at-risk” youth that were in danger of dropping out of high school. After developing the program, he partnered with the leadership of the San Francisco Unified School District to implement the program at schools across the city. Chief Pardini earned an associate degree in Administration of Justice from City College of San Francisco and a bachelor’s degree in Human Services (summa cum laude) from Notre Dame De Namur University. Chief Pardini is also a graduate of two of the State of California’s elite law enforcement training programs; the P.O.S.T. Supervisory Leadership Institute and P.O.S.T. Command College. During his career, Chief Pardini has received many commendations for his actions and service to the community. Chief Pardini retired from the East Palo Alto Police Department in December 2021.
Chief Pardini is the past President of the San Mateo County Police Chiefs and Sheriff Association and he also serves on the board of directors for the 100 club of San Mateo County. Chief Pardini is also involved in many community programs and charitable organizations. In his free time, Chief Pardini enjoys going on hikes with his wife and fine-tuning his collection of vintage pinball machines.
LENO BELLOMO
Treasurer 2024
Born and raised in San Francisco, California, Leno attended Saint Agnes Catholic Grammar School, George Washington High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from San Francisco State University in Business Administration and Finance. Subsequent to this, he earned an MBA certificate from Heriot-Watt University and is a graduate of San Francisco’s Chamber of Commerce Leadership San Francisco.
Beginning a career in the waste management industry at Sunset Scavenger Company, (now a Recology subsidiary) for which he became a partner, he ended his 43 years of service as the Corporate Commodities Broker and Regional Manager of Construction and Facilities Development.
Beginning 2013, Leno assumed the role of President and Chief Operating Officer of a commodities trading firm in Los Angeles serving in this position for over three years.
He has served on the boards of South Valley Disposal, Anderson Cottonwood Disposal, San Francisco Shakespeare Festival and as executive assistant to the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation.
Leno has lived in Burlingame since 1983 with his wife, dog and cat. They have four children and five grandchildren. The family also enjoys time at their home in the Sierra’s.

Danica is a life-long bay area resident: born in Alameda. She later moved to Redwood Shores, but now calls San Carlos her home. She lives with her husband, Jim, and their two dogs. Danica has over 30 years’ experience in the IT field and is currently a Senior IT Manager for a pharmaceutical company in South San Francisco. She has been a 100 Club member for six years and has attended many of our events including past dinners, Candy Store events, the Fallen Officers Memorials in Redwood City. Danica has been a life-long supporter of our first responders and has two nephews who serve as fire fighters, one in neighboring Redwood City.
In April of 2021, Dave Norris joined the Menlo Park Police Department as Chief of Police.
Following a brief minor league baseball career and a Bachelor of Science from St. Mary’s College, Dave Norris was hired by the San Mateo Police Department in 1993.
During over 27 years with SMPD, Dave worked in multiple positions, including Field Training, Narcotics & Vice, Criminal Investigations and Youth Services, and led investigations involving Gang Crimes, Officer Involved Critical Incidents, and Homicides. During his career at San Mateo, Dave was very involved in the operation of San Mateo’s Police Activities League and the design of SMPD’s Youth Services Unit.
From 2010-2014 Dave was assigned to Community and Media Relations, where he established SMPD’s community engagement strategy and elevated followership from a few hundred email subscribers to tens of thousands of community members across multiple social media platforms.
Dave is a graduate of POST Command College and received a Master’s Degree in Public Safety Leadership from the University of San Diego in 2019. He lives in San Mateo with his wife Nicole, a professional horse trainer.
ED BARBERINI
Board Member
Ed Barberini joined the San Mateo Police Department as its chief in February of 2020. His 27 years of law enforcement experience include five years as Police Chief of the San Bruno Police Department and two years as Chief of Police for the Millbrae Police Bureau. He spent over two decades with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office garnering experience in a variety of disciplines including administration, transportation, corrections, field operations, court security and working on the bomb squad. He also served as director of the county’s Office of Emergency Services and Homeland Security.
A lifelong resident of San Mateo County, Ed lives in neighboring Belmont with his wife Jackie. He earned a Master of Public Administration from California State University, East Bay; a Master of Arts in Homeland Security Studies from the Naval Post Graduate School, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from San Francisco State
University.
Ed completed the California Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Command College, Harvard University’s Senior Executives in State and Local Government program, and the Local Governance Institute at Stanford University. He is a member of numerous professional organizations and is a former president of the San Mateo County Police Chiefs and Sheriff Association.

Chief Dave Bertini is a 34-year veteran of Law Enforcement, and Retired Chief of Police for the Menlo Park Police Department. He was the President of the 100 Club of San Mateo County for two terms, in 2016 & 2017. He has been on the Board of Directors since 2010, having served as a board member, Secretary, Vice President & President.
Dave was awarded the 2007 California POST Excellence in Training Award, which was formerly known as the California Governor’s Award, for his work in training police officers throughout the state.
Dave started his career with the Pacifica Police Department where he rose to the rank of Captain in 2008, prior to which he was a sergeant for 13 years. He has worked as a patrol officer, gang officer, traffic officer and detective. In 2011 he took a position as a Police Commander in the Menlo Park Police Department, responsible as the second in command for the department. In 2018, he was appointed as the Menlo Park Chief of Police, and retired in July 2020.
He has been involved in training since 1996, when he started teaching for a local community college, College of San Mateo. He is now an adjunct professor in the Administration of Justice Department for the College of San Mateo.
He teaches semester long classes on the Criminal Justice System, criminal, constitutional and procedural law and criminal investigations; along with teaching numerous subjects in the Basic Academy Modular format. He is also a certified instructor for the South Bay Regional Public Safety Training Consortium Police Academy, instructing a myriad of subjects.
Dave is a national faculty member for the Josephson Institute of Ethics, a national non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the ethical quality of society by changing personal and organizational decision making and behavior.
Dave is a graduate of the College of San Mateo and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Saint Mary’s College. He is a POST (Police Officer Standard and Training) certified instructor and is a graduate of the California POST Master Instructor Development Program, a one year intensive program designed to create a cadre of highly trained law enforcement instructors throughout the state. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Military History from Norwich University. He is also a graduate of the CA POST Command College Program along with the Police Executive Research Forum's Senior Management in Policing Course.
Ron Brooks served as a law enforcement officer for 38 years before retiring in 2012. He went on to found Brooks Bawden Moore LLC a Washington D.C. based government relations and business strategy consulting firm specializing in criminal justice policies and technology.
Ron retired as a Captain with the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office where he was assigned as the Director of the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC) and the Northern California High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (NC HIDTA). Prior to joining the Sheriff's Office, Ron retired as an Assistant Chief with the California Department of Justice – Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement (BNE) where he served in most ranks including as the Senior Special Agent in Charge of BNE’s San Jose Regional Office. Before joining the Department of Justice, Ron served as a Police Officer and Sergeant with the Redwood City Police Department and as a Deputy Sheriff with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
Ron was a founding member and Chairperson of the United States Department of Justice Criminal Intelligence Coordinating Council (CICC) a Federal Advisory Committee created in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on 9-11 to develop and implement national policies and procedures for criminal intelligence and information sharing. He was also a founding member and Chairperson of the ODNI Homeland Security and Law Enforcement Partner’s Board, established after 9-11 to advise the Director of National Intelligence on homeland security matters. Ron is a member of the International Association of Chief’s of Police (IACP) where he serves on the Narcotics and Dangerous Drug and Homeland Security Committees. He has been a member of the Executive Board California Narcotic Officer’s Association since 1984 and was CNOA’s president in 1995. He was also a founding member and served 16 years as the president of the National Narcotic Officers’ Associations’ Coalition.
Ron has received numerous awards including, the National Intelligence Distinguished Public Service Medal, Redwood City Police Department’s Medal of Valor, San Mateo County Sheriff's Office Distinguished Service Medal, National Guard’s Medal of Merit, U.S. DOJ Bureau of Justice Assistance Leadership Award, and the National Fusion Center Association’s Thomas J. O’Reilly Lifetime Achievement Award. He is a graduate of the University of San Francisco. Ron lives with his wife Darlene a retired San Jose Police Officer. They have two grown children and two grandchildren.

Christina Corpus
Board Member
Sheriff Christina Corpus has served the public and San Mateo County since 1995.
She began with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office as a Correctional Officer in 2002 and worked her way up to Captain/Chief of Police before being sworn in as the 26th Sheriff of San Mateo County in January 2023. Throughout her career, she has served in the Corrections Division, Professional Standards Bureau, and Operations Division. Sheriff Corpus has overseen one of our largest patrol bureaus that included Community Policing Unit, the School Resource Unit, the Field Training Unit, the K-9 Unit, the Motor Unit, the Bike Unit, Drone Unit, and the Sheriff’s Activities League. She developed the first Women in Law Enforcement Boot Camp and Symposium to increase workforce diversity to mentor and train women seeking a career in law enforcement. Her professional accomplishments include a Bachelor of Science Degree in criminal justice from Union Institute and University and a Master of Science degree in law enforcement and public safety leadership from the University of San Diego. Sheriff Corpus is the first female Sheriff in San Mateo County since the founding of the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office in 1856. She is also one of the first Latina Sheriffs in California.
Sheriff Corpus recognizes the need for change and advocates for more effective, humane, and responsive community policing through transparency, integrity, and stakeholder engagement. She supports law enforcement professionals and is committed to re-establishing community engagement to rebuild community trust through inclusion and collaboration. Sheriff Corpus' primary focus is on public safety; keeping the residents of San Mateo County safe is a top priority.
She believes inclusion and collaboration with the community, businesses, and faith-based leaders will increase law enforcement’s understanding of community needs and provide more effective methods to address issues such as criminal justice reform, implied biases, mental health, human trafficking, and homelessness.
Sheriff Corpus believes in making a difference by getting involved; she is a board member for LifeMoves and The Sheriff’s Activities League. Sheriff Corpus is a distinguished public servant willing to surpass the status quo to enact a more progressive and inclusive model for community policing.

Jim Dudley
Jim Dudley is a 32-year veteran of the San Francisco Police Department where he served in all ranks of Patrol and Investigations from Patrol Officer to Deputy Chief of Patrol & Investigations. Jim is a graduate of SF State, UC Irvine, with Criminology degrees and is a graduate of the 192nd class of the FBI National Academy and Kennedy School at Harvard.
He currently is a teaching faculty member in the San Francisco State University Criminal Justice Department, and is also the host of the "Policing Matters" podcast and YouTube series.
Jim lives in San Mateo County, where he volunteers with community events and causes, serving 10 years with the Redwood City Parks and Recreation Commission.
Mark Duri

Mark grew up in South San Francisco and graduated from Saint Ignatius High School. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Management from the Union Institute & University in 2012. He also graduated from both the Los Angeles Police Department Executive Leadership Program and the California POST Executive Development Course.
Mark began his career with the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office in 1988. He held a variety of assignments including in Corrections, Headquarters, Coastside, and Millbrae Patrol Bureaus, and served the City of San Carlos as their Police Chief. Mark most recently served as the Assistant Sheriff overseeing Support Services & Investigations where he was responsible for Professional Standards, Records, Property, Technical Services, Investigations, Narcotics & Vehicle Theft Task Forces, the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC), and the Forensic Laboratory. In addition to these assignments, Mark has also supervised the Sheriff's Canine Unit, the Field Training Program, the Crime Suppression Unit, and served as the Bomb Squad Commander for 15 years. One of Mark’s most notable recent accomplishments was leading the 20 million-dollar indoor & outdoor firearms range and training center project to completion, as well as developing plan and scope for the new 70 million-dollar Sheriff’s Office Headquarters building that is currently under construction. He was also instrumental in developing an Enhanced Crisis Intervention Training (ECIT) Program.
Mark retired from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office in September of 2022 and took a position with the Pacific, Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) as the Senior Manager of their Public Safety Specialist (PSS) Team within the Emergency Field Operations Division. The PSS Team is a 32-person all-hazard response team that works within the first responder community during incidents such as wildfires, earthquakes and storm events within the PGE service territory.
When he is not working, Mark enjoys making wine, tinkering with his muscle car, and spending time with family and friends, including his wife and two children, at their family olive & walnut ranch.
Peter Garrison came to the Bay Area in 1979 to fly for Cessna Aircraft Company. He barnstormed in Northern California and Nevada, set up air shows, flight schools and assisted retail sales as a District Sales Manager.
He subsequently attended seminary and was ordained serving as pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Burlingame. He served there for 28 years. As an Associate Seminary Professor Garrison instructed and counseled new seminarians in liturgy, rhetoric, and practical pastoral care in hospital, homes and during crises.
Peter was department chaplain at Burlingame Police Department under chiefs Missel, Palmer, and Van Etten. He, along with Sgt Dawn Cutler, provided programs for newly-wed law enforcement couples using the book “So You Married a Cop”. He was a member of the Critical Incident Stress Management Team.
Peter participated in and was the lead for the Clergy Emergency Response Team at SFO. He coordinated clergy response with police, fire, and mental health units.
He sat in on discussions with the FBI and Sandia Labs concerning emergency responses to bio-chem mass casualty events at SFO.
Garrison has written books, articles and essays. In 2016 he was a recipient of a First Prize for the Best in Christian Writing by the Associated Church Press.
He and his wife Joanne are new grandparents.

Karen Guidotti is a lifelong resident of San Mateo County. She graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1980, and received her law degree from the Santa Clara University School of Law in 1983. Karen has worked as a prosecutor for the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office for 35 years. She retired as Chief Deputy District Attorney in 2018.
She has been a member of the 100 Club since 2010. Karen has served on the Board of Directors since 2013 and has served as Secretary, Vice President & President in 2018.
Karen was awarded the 100 Club Founders' Award in 2023.

Attorney, consultant to c-suite on executive leadership and strategic decision making, and writer on national and international security matters.
Jim, a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy Security Group, practiced law in Silicon Valley for over 30 years, was on the staff of a Japanese law firm in Osaka, Japan, holds a degree from Sophia University International Division (Tokyo), a J.D. from Santa Clara University Law School and was awarded certificates from the Harvard Kennedy School for completion of programs for Senior Executives in National and International Security, and Cybersecurity: Intersection of Law and Policy.
Changing careers to devote full time to public service, Jim served for six years as CEO of the San Mateo County Transit District, where his responsibilities included SamTrans, Caltrain, and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority. He was named “One of the Most Admired CEO’s” by the San Francisco Business Times and was named the 2020 Ray Lahood Honoree by the San Francisco Bay Area Women in Transit for promoting women and minorities.
Jim is currently the Chair of the Redwood City Police Advisory Committee, created by City Council, for advising the Police Chief on policies and practice and a long serving member of the Sheriff’s Inmate Welfare Committee. He is a former Redwood City Mayor and Councilmember. Jim has over one hundred years of law enforcement in his family, with now the 4th generation serving.

Darlene Hong is the Vice President of Membership Development for the SF Police Credit Union, a financial institution that serves exclusively for First Responders. Darlene started as a loan processor for California State Employees Credit Union in 1981 for 3 years and then received the opportunity at SF Police Credit Union. She recently celebrated 34 years with SFPCU. Her passion is the member engagement and building partnerships with law enforcement agencies, organizations and associations across California. Her team currently oversees 400+ partner law enforcement groups throughout California.
A San Francisco native, attended Cathedral High School, City College San Francisco and San Francisco State University with focus in Marketing and Business Administration.
She is a mother of 2 boys with one being a Special Olympics Athlete. Her spare time is spent representing and volunteering for Special Olympics, training in martial arts and enjoying the social life of ballroom dancing.

Chief Mark Raffaelli served 38 years with South San Francisco Police Department, his last 15 years as the Chief, where he and the members of the department implemented a number of community programs. He grew up in South San Francisco, attended Serra High School in San Mateo; earned an Associated Arts Degree from the College of San Mateo, Bachelor’s Degree from Sacramento State, a Master’s Degree from San Jose State and is a graduate of the Police Officers Standard and Training (P.O.S.T.) Command College. He has a California Lifetime Teaching Credential; received the “Giving Something Back” Award from the Management Center of San Francisco; Medal of Meritorious Conduct from the California Peace Officers Association; the Melvin Jones Fellow Award from Lions International and the Gus Nicolopoulas Exemplary Character Award from the Peninsula Peace Officers Association. He has been the Ethics instructor at the San Mateo Police Academy for the last 15 years. Mark was also the chair person, in the planning and procurement of funds to build a Police Academy at the College of San Mateo
.
After retirement he was the Interim Commander and Chief for the Millbrae and East Palo Alto Police Departments; Interim Deputy City Manager for the City of Millbrae; obtained his Private Investigators License conducted backgrounds and internal investigations for public and private entities. He has been a member of the South San Francisco Host Lions Club for the last thirty years serving as secretary and President; President of the board of directors for the South San Francisco Boys and Girls Club; San Mateo County Community College Foundation Board Member; Skyline Community College Hermanos Program Advisor and President of the San Mateo County Police Chief’s Association. A board member of the 100 Club since 2003 serving two terms as president. He was awarded the 100 Club Founders' Award in 2022.
He resides in South San Francisco with his wife Pati; they have two adult sons and two grandchildren whom they love spending time with.
Bob Ravano was born in San Francisco and has lived in the bay area all of his life.
Bob is a Certified Public Accountant and a partner at the firm of Vavrinek, Trine, Day & Co., LLP with over fifty years of accounting experience.
He graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and has a Masters in Business Administration-Taxation from Golden Gate University.
Bob also served in the United States Air Force after college. He has been involved with a number of San Mateo County non-profit organizations including being on the Board of the San Carlos Elms for over twenty years. He has been a member of the 100 Club Board since 1981.

Shortly after graduating from Lick Wilmerding High School in San Francisco, Gary joined the United States Air Force. He served for 7 years during the Vietnam conflict. Following his service, and earning a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from Arizona State University, Gary joined the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office. While working investigations for the office, he obtained a private investigator’s license.
Later in his career, Gary was trained in computer forensics by the only internationally recognized certification body at the time, The International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists. Upon certification, Mr. Shweid established and operated the first computer forensics laboratory in the City Attorney’s office. Gary retired after 25 years of public service in 2006. He continued to work part time as a private investigator performing computer examinations for various clients.
Gary is a lifelong hunter and competitive shooter. He has been teaching Hunter Education for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife for over 15 years. Gary is an officer of the Shriner Rod and Gun Club, the American Legion Riders, and the Royal Order of Jesters. He spends much of his spare time performing Honor Guard Details for veterans’ military funerals in the Bay Area.
Gary and his wife, Patricia, have lived in Millbrae for over 45 years. They have two grown children and like spending time on the water at Clear Lake.
Chief Jack Van Etten retired from the Burlingame Police Department following a 36-year career in the Law Enforcement Profession with BPD. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of San Francisco and a master’s degree from Golden Gate University, as well as a California Lifetime Teaching Credential. Jack continues to maintain active memberships in many Professional Law Enforcement Associations and is a Life Member in CPOA, the IACP and the FBI National Academy.
Jack has been a member of the One Hundred 100 Club of San Mateo County Board for the past 18 years, having served as Secretary, Vice President, and President in 2009 and again in 2021. He is a “Life Member” in the 100 Club and received the Club’s prestigious “Founder’s Award” in 2019. Jack is also a “Life Member” of the Burlingame Lions Club, served as President of the Peninsula Council of Lions Clubs and served as Lions a District Governor, presiding over 42 Lions Clubs in San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties in District 4-C4.
Jack created and taught Disaster Preparedness, Response and Relief training to Lions Districts throughout the state and has chaired a statewide board to standardize all of California Lions Clubs responses to local and state disasters. He also is a Board Member with the Student Speaker’s Foundation, a non-profit Lions Organization throughout California which provides competitive scholarships to high school age student participants. For his efforts, Jack has earned numerous Presidential Awards from Lions and was the honored recipient of Burlingame’s “Citizen of the Year” in 2020.
Jack resides in Burlingame with his, wife of 47 years Lynn, their adult daughter Kristi, and their friendly and loyal German Shepherd Dog, Barkley. In his spare time, Jack and his family enjoy trips to their vacation home in North Lake Tahoe and are "die hard" season ticket holders for USF Dons Men's Basketball games!

Steve Wagstaffe is the elected San Mateo County District Attorney and lifelong resident of San Mateo County. In 1981, Steve was promoted to Assistant District Attorney and over the next ten years managed the felony and misdemeanor divisions of the office. In 1991, he was appointed Chief Deputy District Attorney and served in this role for 19 years. In 2010, he was elected San Mateo County District Attorney and took office in January 2011. He was re-elected for a third term as San Mateo County’s District Attorney, which began in January 2019.
During his time in the DA’s office, he has prosecuted 35 murder trials and all prosecutions of police officer murder cases in the last thirty years.
Steve has served as President of the 100 Club in 2014 and as President of the California District Attorneys Association 2016-2017.

Her family settled in Southern California after her father retired from the Air Force. Following graduation from high school she attended Long Beach State University. She moved to San Carlos while working as a Flight Attendant with American Airlines.
She is married to retired Commander Pete Nannarone of the San Carlos Police Department; her son is a Deputy Chief with the San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department. She has three grandchildren.
Leslie comes from an Air Force family so she has done a lot of traveling. She's lived in Salt Lake City, Utah; Newport, Vermont; Sumter, South Carolina; Shaftesbury, England; Edwards A.F.B, CA; Istanbul, Turkey and Southern California.
Her work history includes: Flight Attendant for American Airlines; Police & Fire Dispatcher for the City of San Carlos; Administrative Clerk in the Parks and Recreation Dept. and the Building/Planning Department in the City of San Carlos; Supervisor of Administrative Services for South County Fire Authority serving Belmont and San Carlos; Administrative Assistant for the City of Belmont in the Human Resources Department; Friends of the Library Book Shop Manager, San Carlos Library from 2003-2009.
She began working for the 100 Club in 2014.

Frank Hannig
Retired Attorney
Frank Leo Hannig, born January 23, 1921, on December 2, 2018 at the age of 97 years. Frank was one of the original founders of the 100 Club of San Mateo County in 1972 and served on its Board of Directors for many years. He maintained a lifetime membership in the organization. Frank will be remembered as a father, lawyer, and prominent citizen that served his community in so many ways. Prior to begin practicing law in Redwood City in 1949, he was one of the first graduates of the Stanford Law School after World War II.
During the war he was a Naval aviator who served in campaigns in the China Seas, the Philippine Islands and Okinawa. He participated in more than 40 missions, primarily for low-level night bombing, night patrols and rescue. Some of the decorations he was awarded included the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with Four Gold Stars, Navy Unit Citation, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with Two Bronze Stars, Victory Medal, and the World War II and the Philippine Liberation Medal with One Bronze Star.
For over 50 years Frank served as a volunteer to numerous organizations.
He will be remembered for his commitment and service to the 100 Club of San Mateo County.
Keith Sorenson
Retired District Attorney
Keith Sorenson, was one of the original founders of the 100 Club of San Mateo County, a charitable organization that provides immediate assistance to fallen peace officers and their families. Keith the last of four children born to Lionel and Clara Sorenson on September 4, 1921, Keith was raised on a small farm just outside of Elsinore, Utah. His father died when Keith was just eight years old, leaving Keith and his sisters and brother to handle all of the farm work.
In 1943 Keith was called to active duty with the navy. He was discharged in the spring of 1946 where upon Keith entered law school at the University of Utah. In a little over two years, he had a law degree and was seeking employment in San Mateo County, CA.
In 1949, Keith was hired as a Deputy District Attorney by the San Mateo County DA's office. In 1951, Keith was promoted to the position of Assistant District Attorney. Two years later in 1953, Keith was appointed District Attorney of San Mateo County. Keith, during his tenure as District Attorney, was retained seven times at elections, only the first two of which were contested.
After thirty years as D.A., Keith retired in 1983, leaving the office in the capable hands of Jim Fox, who was to occupy the position for almost as long. Keith Sorenson, District Attorney of San Mateo County, 1953-1983, passed away on March 20, 2015.
Retired District Attorney
Jim Fox served as District Attorney of San Mateo County for 28 years, from Jan 1982 through Dec 2010. He began his legal career in the San Mateo County District Attorney's office in Jan 1970 and left for private practice in 1974. In addition to a general practice of law, he served as the City Attorney of Half Moon Bay from Jan 1974 to Jan 1983. During his private practice, Mr. Fox served as a member of the Private Defender Panel of the San Mateo County Bar Association, which provides for indigent defense services for the County of San Mateo.
Jim served as a member of the California Bar Association's Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluations from 1980 to 1982. He has also served as a member of several Judicial Council advisory committees, including the Criminal Law Advisory Committee, the Court Profiles Committee, and the Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on Cameras in the Courtroom. He has been a past president of the California District Attorneys Association and the National District Attorneys Association, as well as chairman of each organization’s Legislative Committees. Mr. Fox was twice appointed as a member of the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training, and served as chairman from 1993 to 1995.
Jim Fox became a member of the 100 Club of San Mateo County in 1981. During that time he served on the Board of Directors, and was the Founders' Award Recipient in 2014. He passed away on January 20, 2020.
Former Mayor of Hillsborough
Jim was born in Oak Park, Illinois on February 1, 1934. He attended Horace Mann Elementary School, Oak Park High School and Bradley University. Jim served in the Army's 10th Division Honor Guard in the United States and in Europe. In 1971, Jim moved his family to Northern California to assume regional responsibilities in his career. Committed to his community in Hillsborough, he became very involved with the Town. He was Mayor and a Town Council Member, the Police, Fire and Public Works Commissioner and a member of the Town's Financial Advisory Committee. To honor his contribution, Jim was named Hillsborough Citizen of the Year in 1993. Jim was a Director of the San Mateo County Emergency Medical System Governing Board, the San Francisco Business Times Real Estate Board and a member of the Executive Associations of San Diego and San Francisco.
He joined 100 Club of San Mateo County in 1998 and served in many capacities on the Board of Directors. He was the recipient of the Founders Award in 2016.

Retired Chief of Police
Retired Chief of Police Frank Hedley entered law enforcement service in 1960 as a Reserve Police Officer for the City of San Leandro. In 1963 he was hired as a Police Officer for the City of Fremont where he was later promoted to Police Sergeant having served as a training officer, traffic officer, shift watch commander and administrative assistant to the Chief of Police. In 1973 he was appointed Police Captain for the City of San Bruno and in 1978 was promoted to Chief of Police until his retirement in 1994 at which time he was appointed as the City Manager until his retirement from public service in 2003. During his law enforcement tenure, he attended Golden Gate University, the FBI National Academy, served as President of the California Peace Officers Association, President of the San Mateo County Chiefs and Sheriff Association, President of the 8-Ball Association, President of the San Bruno Community Foundation and President of the 100 Club of San Mateo County where he served as a Board of Director member since 1974. In 2017 Retired Chief Hedley was honored by the 100 Club as a Founders Award Recipient. Retired Chief Hedley has been a member of the San Bruno Rotary Club since 1975, served as Club President, Secretary/Treasurer, as Rotary District Secretary and Assistant District Governor. Retired Chief Hedley is a resident of San Bruno and continues as a member of the 100 Club of San Mateo County.
Retired Bank Officer
Frank Regan joined the 100 Club in 1982. He worked many years in the banking industry including Borel Bank and Trust in San Mateo. He served on the Board of Directors in several positions including Treasurer. He was awarded the Founders’ Award in 2015 at the Annual Dinner.

Matt was born and raised in Auburn, New York. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and later earning an M.B.A. from Pace University, Matt had a varied and accomplished career. Early on he discovered his passion for flight and continued flying his 414 Twin Cessna well into his early 80s. Matt has held positions which include Vice President of Lockheed Electronics, during which time he was awarded a patent for Automated Radar Terminal Systems. He was appointed Vice President of the Export-Import Bank of the United States by President Gerald R. Ford. Upon leaving the Ford Administration, Matt continued working in the investment banking industry, concentrating on corporate restructuring. He became CEO of Mohawk Data Sciences/Qantel Corporation in 1985. Later, under the umbrella of Tutino & Associates, he offered international financial services including governmental debt restructurings and privatization of state-owned companies in Eastern Europe.
A resident of San Mateo since 1986, his love of flying and community service led him to join both the Alameda County and San Mateo County Sheriff's Air Squadrons, the latter of which he served as Commander. Other public service for which he was proud were his efforts with the San Mateo Public Library Foundation and 2003-04 Civil Grand Jury. He was also Past President of the 100 Club of San Mateo and Deputy State Coordinator California of AARP Driver Safety Program.
